Spring is in the Air!

Hello my friends!

This certainly has been a very cold and snowy Winter, the first in quite some time here in New England. We’ve had about 4 feet or more and as I live in a small city, there’s not a lot of room to put it. So, I have a small mountain in my back yard and can only hope it’s gone by the end of April! One year awhile ago, I remember sitting on my patio with my husband, having some champagne to toast the first warm day of Spring and we just put the bottle in the mountain of snow in lieu of an ice bucket!

Anyway that said, despite the remaining mounds of snow, Spring is definitely in the air! The birds are coming back – the robins, chickadees and in the morning I hear the Morning Doves’ plaintive coos which are so magical to me! Winter is so quiet and then all of a sudden, the music’s back!

I mentioned that I would write again come Spring and here I am in your inbox. In a couple weeks I head back into the studio to edit the last of the guest musicians’ tracks and then turn toward mixing. Still not sure on the release date but that will be forthcoming shortly.

Many of you are anxious for the release of my new album, but if you haven’t already heard Still, it is still receiving wonderful reviews almost 1 year after release: “A highly enlightening effort of very mature neo-classical and New Age nods, Sweeten’s performance is stunning and the musicians in attendance add much to the thoughtful landscape”. Read more

Till I write again, be sure and get outside, breathe in that gorgeous spring air! Witness the slowly emerging buds transform into flowering trees, the early bulbs poking their little heads through the snow and hear the wonderful sound of the birds in their contagious chatter at the joy of Spring!

Best wishes and Happy Spring!
Ann Sweeten
